How to make Khichdi Pakora? | How Reuse Leftover Khichdi? | Khichdi ke Pakode

Normally, children don’t like to eat healthy food, They are just interested in the food which is delicious in taste and looks good. But according to the present situation, we must eat healthy for our good health so as for our children.

 In general, 97% of children don’t like to eat the khichdi as it does not have any yummy taste or another reason is it doesn’t look good and attractive but our children like pakora very much because it tastes delicious. But eating khichdi is very good for health so what to do to make our children eat khichdi? What if we mix both of them? What if we ask our children to eat khichdi in the form of pakora?

 So, here is the recipe of khichdi pakora by which your kids will eat khichdi and they will not even recognize that it contains khichdi. To make khichdi pakora you need 1 cup of cooked khichdi of your flavor and a lot of veggies you can add in that. Vegetables like carrot, beans, spinach, cabbage, and many more of choice, which are very good for health. Khichdi pakora can also be shallow fry instead of deep-fry which is safe for the one who has cholesterol or any other heart problems. Also, you can add flour of choice like gram flour (Besan) to give a perfect flavor of pakoras, cornflour, and others.

You can have this khichdi pakora as a starter also and snack also or else you can give this to your children in their tiffin boxes. It takes almost 15minutes to make khichdi pakora, with the following ingredients one can make khichdi pakora for almost 4 persons.

The List Of Ingredients are :

  • 1 cup of cooked khichdi
  • 1/2 cup semolina or rava
  •  1/4 cup rice flour
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped green chilli
  • 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tbsp coriander powder
  •  1/4 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tbsp chaat masala
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tbsp white sesame or til
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • fresh coriander

Method:

Let’s start to make the khichdi pakora ;

Take a bowl and add 1 cup of cooked khichdi (You can use any flavored khichdi of your choice), 1/2 cup of semolina or Rava, 1/4 rice flour.

Then time to add veggies like 1/4 cup finely chopped onions, 1 tbsp finely chopped green chilies, 1 tbsp of grated or chopped ginger.

After that add spices like 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder, 1/4 coriander powder, 1/4 red chili powder, 1/4 tbsp chaat masala, 1/2 tbsp white sesame seeds, or til (You can use Black sesame seeds as well), 2 tbsp oil, and freshly chopped coriander.

Mix all the ingredients well and 2-4 tbsp of water to form a paste and allow to rest for 10minutes.

Next step, take a frying pan and add some oil to it to fry the pakoras’. Then, grease your hands with oil and take a very small ball of paste and add in hot oil to deep fry very carefully. after that stir the pakoras and allow them to cook till golden brown on a low-medium flame.

(For shallow fry) instead of the shape of a ball, one must make the shape of Tikki that is a flat circle and place it on a pan and add 2 tbsp oil, allowing it to cook both sides till golden brown on low-medium flame for 5minutes stir occasionally.

Hot and crispy khichdi pakora is ready to eat, you can add chaat masala at the time of serving (It is optional), enjoy with green chutney or schezwan sauce or ketchup or anything else of your choice.
