Well to improve your mood, this is a very good dish for everyone because it tastes delicious and also healthy as well.

Vegetable Corn Uttapam” is very healthy and tasty as well because you can the vegetables of your choice and it is very good especially for the mothers who can make and eat vegetable corn uttapam with the number of vegetables which are not eaten by the children.

In this recipe, you can add vegetables like carrots, bottle gourd and many more by grating them into the batter which is generally not liked by the children, so that it can be easily consumed by the children without their recognization and you can also give this dish to your children in their tiffin boxes. Also one can add garlic paste or chopped garlic to add more flavor. Vegetable corn uttapam is a recipe that consumes less time, It takes almost 20-30minutes along with the pre-preparation time to make vegetable corn uttapam. With the list of ingredients mention below, one can make vegetable corn uttapam for 3-4 persons.

The List of Ingredients for vegetable corn uttapam are:

  • 2 cups of corn (Yellow or white)
  • 1 cup semolina or rava
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup boiled corns
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1 tbsp green chilli paste
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tbsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tbsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander


To make vegetable corn uttapam, there are two parts of preparation :
For batter:

Take a bowl and add 2 cups of crushed corn (For crushed or blended corn, one just need to take 2 cups of corn in a blender and add 3-5 tbsp water and blend it into a smooth paste), 1 cup of semolina or Rava, 1/2 cup of rice flour, 1 tbsp of green chili paste or finely chopped green chilies, 1 tbsp of ginger paste or finely chopped ginger, 1/4 tbsp of baking soda(or it can be replaced by 1/4 cup of curd), 1/4 turmeric powder(optional), salt to taste and freshly chopped coriander and mix it well and 1/2 cup of water to make a smooth paste.

For Vegetable mix:

Take a bowl, add 1/4 cup of finely chopped onions, 1/4 cup of finely chopped tomatoes, 1/4 cup of finely chopped capsicum, 1/4 cup of boiled corn, 1/4 tbsp of black pepper, 1/4 cup of freshly chopped coriander, salt to taste, and mix it well.

Now, after the two steps of preparation time to make vegetable corn uttapam. Take a disc-shaped frying non-stick pan or tava, take the batter and place it on pre-heated tava, and spread the batter according to the thickness of the uttapam.

Take 1 tbsp of vegetable mix and spread it on the uttapam either place it on only the center or place it till the edges of the uttapam. take 1 tbsp of oil or butter and spread it around the vegetable corn uttapam on both sides and allow it to cook for 2-3 minutes on low-medium flame.

Vegetable corn uttapam is ready to serve along with sauce or green chutney or with coconut chutney and sambhar according to your choice.
